In celebration of National Daiquiri Day one west end bar is helping Glaswegians get into the summer spirit with a special menu.

Cocktail bar the Drugstore Social in Glasgow's west end has launched a special menu of Daiquiri twists exclusively with Bacardi.

Head bartender Kevin Hunt has created a varied menu for the Kained Holdings bar featuring everything from rhubarb and pea shoot syrup to apple mint tea.

The Daiquiri Punch features rhubarb and pea shoot syrup alongside Bacardi Carta Blanca, Bacardi Carta Negra, apple mint tea and Escubac to create a light and refreshing drink that is perfect for sharing.

Other unconventional twists include the Shogun’s Daiquiri made using Bacardi Carta Blanca, Rum Agricole, Umeshu Sake, Orgeat syrup, lime juice, giving it a tropical edge with a moreish savory finish from the Sake.

Traditionalists, however, need not worry as the classic daiquiri will be available alongside favourites such as the Hemingway Daiquiri.

Commenting, Kevin Hunt, said: “We are thrilled to host National Daiquiri Week with Bacardi. Together, we will help showcase this wonderful summer drink and show how versatile it is. We think Daiquiri Day is cause for celebration, so we’ve made a whole week of it!”

The menu features five styles of daiquiri which will be available from Monday July 17 until Sunday 23.

There will also be a special daiquiri fountain as well as a party for trade staff on Tuesday night.

The Drugstore Social can be found at 67 Old Dumbarton Rd, Glasgow.
