THREE teenagers were taken to hospital and 10 were arrested after a boozy get-together on a Scottish beach.
Thousands of young people descended on Troon beach yesterday as temperatures across the country soared.
Many travelled from Glasgow after a Facebook invite circulated on social media.
Police Scotland sent additional officers to the area to handle the crowds after reports of the youngsters illegally drinking alcohol.
The force confirmed that 10 arrests were made.
Locals said young people were taken away in ambulances, with over indulgence in alcohol the suspected cause.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed their attendance.
He said: "We received a call at 2.02pm on Tuesday, July 18 to attend an incident on South Beach, Troon.
“We dispatched seven crews, two managers and our special operations response team.
"Three patients in their teens were treated at the scene.
“Three patients, one male and two females, in their teens were take to University Hospital Crosshouse.”
