THE community of Castlemilk have released balloons to celebrate the birthday of a young man who was gunned down in a housing estate.

Dozens of people turned out to release the tri-colour balloons for Jamie Lee's 23 birthday.

His sister Emma posted the touching tribute on the social media website Facebook and said: ""Happy birthday brother, love you."

Attached to the balloons were notes which were 'messages to heaven' for the popular young man.

He died earlier this month following a mass brawl in Ballantay Terrace.

Glasgow Times:

The tribute was carried out as cops continue their hunt for "dangerous" Jordan Owen, above.

Police released an image of the 23-year-old, who is also from Castlemilk, whose whereabouts is unknown.

They want to speak to him in connection with the murder.

In a statement, Police Scotland said: “He is considered dangerous and should not be approached by the public.”

Anyone who recognises Mr Owen is asked not to approach him but to contact the police.

He is described as 5 ft 8 inches in height, slim build, with short brown hair.

It is requested that anyone with information as to his whereabouts contact Police Scotland as a matter of urgency on 101, or the incident room at Govan Police Office on 0141 532 5415. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers on 0800555111.
