A man who died following a road crash near Girvan has been named by police.
Robert McLean, 28, was driving his Ford Focus south on the A77 near to Lendalfoot when the vehicle left the road and collided with the near side verge at around 7pm on Monday.
Emergency services attended and he was taken by ambulance to Ayr Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police said that a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
Mr McLean was from Patna in Ayrshire.
