He’s the country’s favourite shopkeeper and fans of hit BBC sitcom Still Game are still buzzing after Greg Hemphill this week revealed the new series is currently being filmed.

Now, though, Sanjeev Kohli - who plays hilarious newsagent owner Naveed - helped to whet fans’ appetites by posting an image online of himself in his dressing room undergoing his on-screen treatment.

In the shop worker’s trademark grey wig, complete with a cheeky smirk, the 45-year-old actor wrote: “And so the transformation to Navid begins…”

Poking fun at the wig in another snap, he added: “Here is Worzel Gummidge’s underused ‘shopkeeper’ head.”

The images went down a storm with Twitter users having amassed close to 2,000 reactions, retweets, and comments between them.

Hemphill, 47, who plays pensioner Victor, took to Twitter at the start of this week to inform fans that the hit show started filming series eight on Monday.

The new series is expected to hit screens later this year.
