Hoops fans are continuing to take to Twitter to lament the loss of the Green Brigade last night after the Celtic FC Ultra group received a two-match ban from Parkhead.

Supporters have described a lack of atmosphere in the stadium after the section was closed off for Celtic’s Champions League Third qualifying round against Rosenborg which resulted in a goalless draw.

Brendan Rodgers also called for the Green Brigade to leave politics out of Celtic Park but, as fans flocked to social media to mourn the loss of the group, one supporter even pleaded: “Bring them home.”

Some others, though, were adamant the atmosphere was not as bad as it was made out to be.

Glasgow Times: The club announced a week ago that the “Green Brigade section” of the stadium would close for two matches after “serious incidents of unsafe behaviour” at previous home games.

The announcement came after Celtic was hit with UEFA disciplinary charges over an alleged “illicit banner”' and "blocked stairways" during their Champions League victory over Linfield on July 19.

The club also expressed their frustration over a pyrotechnic display during the final game of last season against Hearts.

The decision is affecting 900 season-ticket holders in the safe-standing section of the stadium which houses the ultras group.
