A YOUNG man has been arrested after pedestrians were allegedly shot with a paintball gun in several areas across the Central Belt.
The 23-year-old has been arrested and is currently detained in police custody in connection with these incidents.
The Evening Times previously reported a number of people were treated in hospital following the alleged shootings.
We also revealed a total of 16 incidents were reported to police back in June in the Glasgow, West Dunbartonshire and Central Scotland areas.
Detective Sergeant Raymond Sagan, from Drumchapel CID, said: “The response from members of the public has been excellent and I would like to thank everyone who got in touch to assist with this investigation.
"Some of the information provided proved to be absolutely vital in helping us establish the circumstances of this reckless and dangerous incident.”
The man is due to appear in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.
Police Scotland also said they are still looking for the driver of the car and Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Drumchapel CID and quote incident number 1946.
