GLASGOW'S Briggait will welcome a new boutique festival focussed on Scotland's drinks this weekend.

More than 150 different tipples from world-famous malts to boutique gins, fruit wines and beer will be available for sampling at the iconic venue.

Experts will be on hand to answer questions about the drinks being showcased and run tasting sessions.

There will also be culinary delights from some of the city’s best pop-up street food specialists and live music from local artists.

Drinks on display will include; Makar Glasgow Gin, Strathearn, Deanston, Bunnahabhain , Old J Rums & cocktails, Fallen Beer, Elephant Gin, Fraiser of Scotland, Savanha cider, Poleta wine, Shetland Reel and One Gin.

The Scottish Gantry, a new local specialist wine and spirits retailer will be selling bottles of the good stuff on the day.

Jack Breslin, the Festival Director said: “We’re thrilled at last to announce this enriched festival experience.

"The first ever Scottish Drinks Festival will certainly live up to our nation’s global reputation within in the drinks industry. we will showcase an authentic and credible Scottish drink tasting experience in an unexpected, memorable way.

"The old Glasgow Fish Market, a grade A listed building round the corner from Glasgow Green really is the ideal location to host such an exhibition.

"The whole team have worked tirelessly to ensure all our visitors get a real flavour of Scotland."
