ART by Glasgow's Peter Howson is going on sale to raise funds to support war veterans.

The Lighthouse is hosting an exhibition of contemporary fine art with all funds going towards the care of veterans in Erskine's four care homes.

The exhibition will include footage and artefacts charting the 100-year history of Erskine Hospital.

Visitors will be able to feel the weight of a replica artificial limb and learn about the workshops which supported the rehabilitation of patients during the first world war.

There will also be drawings, poetry and notes, including the ‘Erskine Bugle’ a newsletter written by patients at the hospital.

Let’s hope lots of people, Glaswegians and visitors alike, will go along to see the Art for Erskine exhibition at The Lighthouse, in the heart of Glasgow’s city centre. With a large selection of artwork on sale, it will also be a fantastic opportunity to own a piece of contemporary art and help raise money for a very deserving charity. I wish it every success.”

The exhibition is open from 10.30am until 5pm, Monday to Saturday and from 12pm to 5pm on Sunday. Admission is free.
