EX-RIVER CITY star Gary Lamont will welcome chat show king Graham Norton and a whole host of other celebrities to his Edinburgh Fringe show.

The Castlemilk-born actor confirmed his Fringe show Dropping The Soap will feature several guest stars.

BBC favourite Graham Norton will join Gary at the Gilded Balloon Rose Theatre in Edinburgh as well as Claire Richards from the pop band Steps, ex-Eastenders actress Martine Martine McCutcheon, Evening Times columnist and singer Michelle McManus and River City’s Dawn Steele.

Gary, who has now left River City where he played hairdresser Robbie Fraser, said: “I’m loving doing my new show and especially working with all my amazing guest stars.

“Claire from Steps is my childhood idol, Graham Norton is my favourite TV host, Dawn Steele is my favourite actress,

Martine McCutcheon is my spirit animal and Michelle McManus is normally so expensive I can’t afford her.

“So to have them all agree to take part and send themselves up has been incredible”.

The show marks Graham Norton’s return to The Fringe after a 20 year absence.

He said: “I absolutely loved Gary’s last show so I was happy to help out with his latest.

“Who needs soap when you’ve got buckets of charm, hilarity and song like Gary? His show is a joyous revelation.”

The show will also be an opportunity for Gary to also work with Claire Richards again after she featured on his River City exit storyline.

She said: “Gary has managed to rope me in to film his exit from River City and now he’s made me take part in his new Fringe show.

“I have loved having the chance to take part in Gary’s new show.”

Dropping The Soap will run until August 28.

The show is on at 8.45pm each evening.

Tickets are on sale now.
