Have you always wanted to sit down for a slap-up dinner and then dissect a human body to learn all about vital organs? We thought so.

A new experience is set to hit Glasgow allowing the curious to do just this in a bizarre and macabre new experience.

Anatomy Lab LIVE will give science geeks an in-depth insight into the science of dissection to successfully reveal the intricate structures found within the human body.

The evening will begin in a glamorous dining room where guests will tuck into a two-course à la carte evening meal.

After dinner, the dissection procedure will commence.

A “central post-mortem suite” will light up to reveal VIVIT - a state-of-the-art, semi-synthetic human cadaver where a leading team of human anatomists, medics,, and a physiologist will begin a real post mortem on the cadaver.

At the end, there will be a Q&A session as the floor opens for queries from the audience.

The experience is recommended for those who are currently studying at university in a health or biosciences discipline.

Please note all samples used in the performance are harvested from spent swine material, as they are “the most ethical and closest to human possible,” say organisers.

Each dissection experience includes:

  • A two-course meal
  • Protective mask, hat, and apron
  • Disposable gloves
  • Scalpels and dissection scissors
  • Access to the anatomical samples
  • A professional certificate
