A Glasgow diner couldn't believe it when she got an extra special helping of ants with her sweet chilli sauce.
Full time HR student Jodie Gillespie, 27 from Glasgow and her boyfriend had been hoping for a nice treat on Monday night after they never got the chance for a night out on Saturday.
They ordered a £20 set meal from the eatery in the West End and were thrilled when it came pretty quickly.
Jodie began munching a spring roll as she unpacked the rest of the meal but after she dipped it into the sauce she claims she realised there was a bit of a problem.
She said: "I was dishing out the food and eating at the same find and as I was chewing I saw that something wasn't right.
"There were little black things which I'd initially thought were chilli flakes in the sweet chilli sauce.
"I looked closer and saw that some had wings, and others were ants. I just had to spit everything out."
Jodie was in shock as she called up the restaurant to tell them of the problem.
She claimed: "There were bugs all the way through the sauce, more than ten of them.
"I explained in a panic to the restaurant and they said they'd had a problem with ants and had pest control in. They said they'd give me back my money."
Jodie who was still in shock returned the sweet chilli sauce to the restaurant although she now wishes she'd kept it for examination.
She said: "I rated the place quite highly and I realise this is someone's business but it was more than one or two bugs so they have a problem."
The restaurant was unavailable for comment.
