A WOMAN confronted a would-be thief who she spotted in her garden, a court has heard.
Adam Jordan Birrell, 22, appeared in the dock for sentencing at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
He plead guilty to being found in rear garden of the property without having the lawful authority to be there so that in all circumstances it may be reasonably inferred that he intended to commit theft there.
The incident happened on June 15, this year at a property on Cockenzie Street, Shettleston.
The Procurator Fiscal depute told the court that the woman asked him what he was doing there, and Birrell said he was looking for directions.
Birrell’s defence agent said his client was on drugs when he committed the offence but accepted his guilt.
Birrell, of Watson Crescent, Edinburgh, was ordered to be assessed for the drugs court.
