GLASGOW Tigers must go on a run of away wins if they are to keep up with their rivals at the top of the league.

That's according to team boss Stewart Dickson, who hopes to kick off a fresh charge to the SGB Championship summit away at Redcar on Thursday.

The Tigers won on Teeside earlier this season in controversial circumstances, as their meeting was called off before heat 10 due to delays caused by a crash, while well in front.

They were later awarded the full four points for the victory, despite protests from the Bears.

With Sheffield now setting the pace at the top of the table and six in front, Glasgow must put in a repeat performance when they return tomorrow - and gather further points at Newcastle on Sunday - if they're to put pressure back on the Yorkshire Tigers.

"There's no doubt that Redcar will be up for it because of previous circumstances," said Dickson, whose side will be buoyed by Saturday's Scottish derby win.

He added: "They were, probably up until last Thursday, genuine top four challengers. It's not over for them yet - I'm sure if they can get another away win or two they have a chance - but we can only concentrate on ourselves.

"We've got to go there looking for points. One is probably not enough, and the same goes for Newcastle on Sunday.

"We have to be targeting points in those two meetings, there's no doubt about that, because Sheffield have stolen a march on us and we're playing a bit of catch-up.

"We need to claw some of that back and put a bit of pressure back on them. We can't just go getting a point here or there, that isn't enough any more, so we're going to have to start getting wins on the road.

"Our team is going to have to start coming into a bit of form - the way we were in May and June. This team needs to go on a run again, and that run has to start now."

Glasgow have named an unchanged septet for both meetings, with reserve Jack Smith having recovered from his crash at the weekend.

There's no league action at the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium on Saturday night as the track instead hosts the latest round of the British Youth Championship.
