Celtic might well tweak things for the visit to Kilmarnock tomorrow afternoon given the fact that they fly out to Kazakhstan on Sunday morning.

We know that it is a far more straightforward game on Tuesday night than it might have been but there will still be a strong team out there for the return leg against Astana.

A couple of the young players like Anthony Ralston might feature in order to give the senior lads a breather, although at the same time Celtic won’t want to allow their momentum in the league to slip either.

We saw with the comprehensive League Cup win over Kilmarnock last week that it's possible to ring the changes without dropping the baton.

Certainly, though, one thing I would say is that the fitness levels are exemplary at Celtic at the minute. Some of that can be attributed to the fact that so many of the players were involved in international duty up until the middle of June, but so much too goes down to the work that has gone in at Lennoxtown.

They look like the fittest team in the league and that bodes well for the season that lies ahead now.
