A MAN has been stabbed in Paisley.

Cops are now hunting for three men after the assault in Causeyside Street at around 4.40pm on Thursday.

The thugs pounced on their 45-year-old man near to the Wellington Bar.

He is in a stable condition at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where he is currently being treated for stab wounds.

The three male suspects are described as all white. One is 6ft 4 inches, of heavy build and he was wearing a white t-shirt and a grey tracksuit. The other is 6ft 4 inches, around 30 years old and of skinny build with short dark hair. The third suspect is of heavy build with short hair- greying at the top.

Detective Sergeant Nathan Calderwood at Paisley CID said: “We are currently viewing CCTV and speaking to local people in the area to help establish what exactly occurred. Causeyside Street would have been busy at this time with both pedestrians and car users.”
