FOUR gutsy teenagers from Glasgow are gearing up for a climb that is described as the greatest challenge in British mountaineering.
Zach Ronan, 17, Rosie Urquhart, 18, Mairead Maclennan, 17 and 18-year-old Siobhan Brady will take on the Cuillin Ridge in Skye during a five-day expedition that will be filmed for a BBC documentary.
All four took part in a gruelling day of training at Glasgow Climbing Centre in Govan in preparing for their trip.
The teenagers, who are all former pupils of Glasgow Gaelic School, will be accompanied by a safety team including Brian Hall and Keith Partridge, whose credits include Touching the Void, Human Planet and Everest, as well as highly experienced mountain guides.
The Cuillin Ridge is the greatest challenge in British mountaineering, with famed rock faces including the Inaccessible Pinnacle and Am Basteir Tooth, and the peaks along the way include 11 Munros.
Their journey will be screened by BBC Alba towards the end of the year.
