Paramedics were treating the boy at the scene.
An eyewitness told the Clydebank Post: "People were helping him in the middle of the road as the ambulance arrived.
"I didn't see exactly what happened but it looked as though he'd hurt his leg.
"The street was busy but people were out to help him really quickly. I hope he's okay."
The road remains open although drivers are advised to take care in the area.
