Historic Chinese restaurant Amber Regent reopens it's doors in Glasgow after an incredible revamp.

The restaurant has undergone a six-figure revamp to mark 30 years in the business.

Glasgow Times:

Having remained the same for three decades, the overhaul has turned the restaurant into a contemporary new space with a cocktail bar and private dining area.

The team have also developed a brand new set of menus to go alongside the new look.

Amber Regent presents an innovative blend of Scottish produce and Cantonese flavours.

Seafood and shellfish remain at the heart of the menu, with notable dishes such as the scallops and king prawns in XO sauce proving to be a big hit with customers.

Of course, there’s also a range of classic meat dishes such as their famed aromatic crispy lamb, or the much lauded crispy belly of pork served with fluffy Chinese bao & hoisin sauce.

Manageress Christina Chung, who runs Amber Regent alongside her sister Angie, said: “There has been an explosion of restaurants opening in Glasgow, and with such fierce competition you have to be willing to adapt to remain relevant. For us, investing in our family run restaurant is a commitment to the future - we’ve been here since 1988 and we plan on being here for many more years to come.”

Angie Chung said, “We’re ecstatic with the new look and excited about the challenge that lies ahead."

The restaurant is famous for being fully booked ahead - so make sure you phone ahead if you want to indulge!

Amber Regent is located at 50 West Regent Street in Glasgow City Centre.
