A PENSIONER is in a serious condition after he was struck by a car.
The 72-year-old man is being treated for a leg injury at Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock where his condition is serious but stable.
He was struck by a white Volkswagen Tiguan which was reversing within Dundonald Road at around 2.30pm on Friday.
Officers at Ayrshire’s Divisional Road Policing Unit are investigating the incident and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
The occupants of the car were uninjured.
Enquiries are ongoing into the crash, and officers from the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Irvine are appealing for any witnesses to contact their office through 101 quoting reference number 3119 of 18th August.
