RANGERS will not make another move to land Hearts winger Jamie Walker before the end of the transfer window unless the Tynecastle board lower their £1million valuation.

The Light Blues have so far been rebuffed in their attempts to bring the 24-year-old to Ibrox this summer as Hearts have stood firm in a bid to hold onto one of their prized assets.

Boss Pedro Caixinha has added ten players to his squad over the last couple of months as he has overhauled his Ibrox ranks in a multi-million pound rebuilding job.

But the loan deal for Manchester City winger Aaron Nemane last week could prove to be the final one that Rangers complete before the transfer window closes on Thursday night.

After seeing his side get back to winning ways in the Premiership with victory over Ross County at the weekend, Caixinha returned to Portugal to give a lecture at the University of Lisbon.

Director of Football Mark Allen has been left to oversee the remaining days of business this summer but it could prove to be a quiet finale after a frantic few weeks at Ibrox.

Many Gers fans had hoped that Walker would be brought on board to provide extra threat on the flanks as Caixinha’s side look to finish best of the rest in the Premiership and clinch some cup silverware this term.

But that move will only happen if Hearts are willing to accept a six-figure sum for Walker, with the clubs still apart in their valuations of the highly-rated forward.

Walker was made a contract offer that would have seen him become the highest paid player at the club if he had committed his future to the Jambos for the next three seasons.

But he rejected the terms on the table and informed Hearts chiefs that he wouldn’t sign on the dotted line during the final twelve months of his deal.

If Rangers don’t get a move for Walker completed before the deadline tomorrow night, Caixinha would then have to wait until January before he could move to secure the wide man on a pre-contract agreement.

As it stands, Rangers are unlikely to do any other business in the final hours of the window but the Light Blues will keep their options open in the chance that an eleventh recruit could be brought on board before Caixinha’s side return to action after the international break.

The Portuguese has offloaded ten players, including the likes of Barrie McKay, Joe Garner and Martyn Waghorn, in recent weeks as his unwanted stars have headed for the exit door.

But it may turn out to be a low key deadline day for Rangers as Caixinha prepares to work with what he has got in the coming months.
