COPS are continuing their investigations after they received a report of a man in the River Clyde last night.
Emergency services scrambled to the scene near the Clyde Arc Bridge, known locally as the Squinty Bridge, just after 11pm.
An extensive search was carried out in the water but there was no discovery made.
It is understood the police helicopter was deployed while emergency service workers search the water using spotlights.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At around 11.15pm last night, police were called to a report of a man in the River Clyde near to the Clyde Arc Bridge.
"Emergency services attended and an extensive search of the water was carried out with no results.
"Enquiries are continuing."
