A MATERNITY hospital in Glasgow has received a glowing report from health watchdogs.
A follow-up inspection was ordered after a visit last year when a number of concerns were raised including staining on incubator mattresses and safety issues over the storage of breast milk.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde was issued with seven requirements during the inspection last October.
The Health Environment Inspectorate (HEI) carried out a snap inspection in June and said that all the requirements had now been met.
Dr Margaret McGuire, Nurse Director at NHSGGC said: "This report highlights the immediate actions were took followin the inspection team's visit last October and we are delighted that they acknowlege that all seven of their requirements have been met.
"We have address all the requirements by putting in place revised cleaning schedules in the emergency birthing room, replaced mattresses and implementing further staff training in infection control and safe storage of breast milk."
Alastair McGown, Senior Inspector for Healthcare Improvement Scotland, said: "During the theatre inspection we found good leadership in infection prevention and control and a good standard of environmental cleanliness in all areas of the department."
