Singer Patti Boulaye said she did not think she had done herself justice as she got the boot from Celebrity MasterChef.
The performer, who won the New Faces talent show in 1978, was axed from the competition after she failed to dazzle the judges with her dishes.

She whipped up a tuna and onion dip followed by lamb chops with yam sauce and chilli dip but couldn’t win over judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.
Torode told her: “It’s all a bit of a mixed mash and I don’t know if it comes together.”

Afterwards, Boulaye said she was sad to leave but pleased for the contestants who made it though.
She said: “I’m feeling very disappointed. I don’t know if I did myself justice but I’m glad for everyone else.”

Union J pop star Jaymi Hensley was praised as the “cook of the day” by Wallace, who was impressed with his Thai red curry and lychee and lime cheesecake.

Actor Brian Bovell also did well, whipping up sea bass with crushed potatoes and salsa verde and a chocolate mousse with raspberry coulis.
He was stunned to make it through, saying: “I had my bags packed and had already called a cab.”
Comedian Abdullah Afzal dazzled Torode with the spice mix in his chicken curry, prompting the chef to say he wanted it for himself but Gogglebox star Reverend Kate Bottley hit a bump in the road with her lamb noisette, which was too rare.

Some viewers thought she had a narrow escape, with one tweeting: “The little known 11th Commandment: Thou shalt not undercook your lamb. Saved because they didn’t like Patti’s dish.”

Another added: “If the vicar had left the lamb in for another minute it would’ve been perfect.
“That would be a 5 minute minute.”

However others thought the right person left the competition after Boulaye used tinned tuna in her dip.
One viewer said: “All the others being ambitious and Patti opens a tin of John West.”
