Generous Buchanan Galleries customers have brought a ray of sunshine to Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity this summer with a fantastic fundraising drive.
Kind-hearted shoppers donated £10,037 over six weeks, smashing last year’s summer total by over 20%, ensuring that young patients at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow can receive the best care and experience possible.
The shopping centre launched its very own Summer Hub located on the ground floor across from John Lewis, complete with giant deck chair offering a summer escape in the heart of the city centre.
Throughout the summer, volunteers offered craft sessions, hair braiding and glitter tattoos for people of all ages, along with special guest appearances from The Rock Choir, Star Wars Stormtroopers and Marvel superheroes amongst others.
Kathy Murdoch, centre manager at Buchanan Galleries, said: “We were proud to support Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity with our Summer Hub and the reaction from our shoppers has been fantastic.
“You really can’t fail to be moved by the wonderful work Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity does for children who are going through such tough times, and I’d like to thank our generous customers who have donated throughout the summer.”
