A FORMER top star of UFC will be making his debut in a wrestling at a special Glasgow show.

Matt Riddle, will be travelling from his hometown of Pennsylvania to step into a wrestling ring at Destiny’s Church, Shawlands, for Source Wrestling on September 15.

The fighter made a name for himself in the world of mixed martial arts as a contestant on the Ultimate Fighter.

Riddle secured a series of impressive wins in the UFC Octagon before going on to compete around the world.

He has since changed his focus by becoming a force to be reckoned with in the professional wrestling ring.

During his trip to Glasgow, he will be taking on a veteran wrestler with more than ten years experience and head trainer of the Source Wrestling School, Mikey Whiplash during a live show.

He will also be holding a training sessions for students of the Shawlands school.

Mikey Whiplash, said: “For the students of the school, this is an incredible opportunity for them to learn from a man who has performed all around the world, studying a variety of forms of combat and wrestling.

“For me, on the other hand, it’s a chance to continue to test myself against one of the toughest men on the planet and show them that their teacher is still the master.

“The UK, and Glasgow in particular, has become a hot spot for professional wrestling over the last few years, with people coming from all around the world now looking to come here to make a name for themselves.

Scotland has been my home for years now, and I have no intention of making this easy for him. He may be the king of the Octagon, but this is my world.”

The family friendly show will also feature contests from some of the best in the UK going up against the rising stars of the Source Wrestling School which also produced current WWE stars Killian Dain and Nikki Cross.

Tickets are priced at £10 for adults, £6 for children and are available for £28 for a family of four.
