A THUG jumped from stairs onto a police officer while he was kicking off at his 21st birthday party.
Joseph Leahy had consumed alcohol at the celebration being held at his home in Colinton Place, Springboig, on May 29 of last year.
Police were called to the scene after he starting kicking off.
Upon seeing the officers Leahy, 22, became abusive, shouting “f*** off get out of my house” and making threats of violence while he was standing on the stairs.
He kicked an officer on the chest before jumping off the stairs and onto him, causing him to fall back.
Leahy appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court for sentencing after pleading guilty to the attack.
Sheriff Divers said: “What a way to celebrate your 21st birthday party, it was disgusting behaviour and you should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself”.
He was ordered to undergo 180 hours of unpaid work in a period of nine months.
