If your family and friends rave about your food, or if you find yourself constantly dreaming up dishes and perfecting your cookery skills, then the BBC is looking for you.

Britain's Best Cook - a “new and exciting” prime-time series - has announced it is looking for ten applicants from across the nation to compete for the title.

Producers want to hear from cooks who have a passion for creating dishes for themselves and their loved ones to take part in the show that will celebrate all things great about British home-cooking.

“It could be succulent pork belly with perfect crackling, an ingenious twist on chicken curry, or an irresistible chocolate pudding. This is a test of the real-life expertise of truly great home cooks,” says the advert on the BBC One site.

If you think you’ve got what it takes to impress the panel judges, apply to take part now by downloading the application form at the site by clicking here.

Email it off to bestcook@keofilms.com, or post it to Britain’s Best Cook, Keo films, 9-10 Great Sutton Street, London EC1V 0BX.

If you think your dishes could win over Britain’s most revered judge, Mary Berry, this could be your big chance, so don’t let it go by.

Applicants must be 18 years of age and over. The closing date is Tuesday, October 31.

Good luck!
