TWO teenagers have been arrested in connection with a number of allegeed incidents involving vandalism and theft from a car in the Giffnock and Clarkston areas.

Last week, cops appealed for information after black spray paint was used on cars and properties between Wednesday, August 30 and Monday, September 4.

After extensive enquiries by officers from East Renfrewshire Local Problem Solving Team, two people were arrested in connection with the incidents.

A 16-year-old male is now the subject of a report sent to the Procurator Fiscal for alleged vandalism, fraud and theft.

A 14-year-old boy is the subject of a report that will be forwarded to the Scottish Children's Reporters Administration for alleged theft and vandalism.

Sergeant Edward McLemon, Local Problem Solving Team, said: "I would like to take the opportunity to thank the community for their assistance and patience during the course of this enquiry.

"I would also remind the public, in light of the alleged theft from a car, to ensure that your vehicle is locked and secured when unattended especially at night."
