A MAN who terrified his neighbours by smashing windows and throwing his belongings out into the garden has been jailed.

Craig Duff woke other residents of George Street, Baillieston, around 3.30am on May 15 this year with the sound of smashing glass.

He then threw household items out of the windows while shouting and swearing as police used a rammit to gain entry to the flat.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard the 44-year-old had a string of charges, including phoning a woman he was banned from contacting on May 18; punching a paramedic on the head as the medic tried to help a member of the public on July 10; on August 9 he stole £56.92 worth of food from Lidl; and on August 23 at West Street he was threatening and abusive to police.

Sheriff Barry Divers admonished Duff on three charges but gave him 80 days in prison for the West Street incident and 109 days for abusing the paramedic.
