DOZENS of people took part in a mass cycle from the Riverside Museum as the city celebrated the expansion of the ‘People Make Glasgow’ bike scheme.
The current fleet of Nextbikes is set to grow by 500 next month with new technology and an additional 10 stations being installed across Glasgow.
And some of the older models are now taking centre stage at the city’s museum of transport.
In the city centre, bikes will be located in the Saltmarket/Glasgow Green area with Kelvinhaugh Street chosen as a new location in the West End.
Cycle stops for the scheme will also be added at the Citizens Theatre, Shawlands Shopping Centre, Langside Hall and Pollockshaws West Railway Station in the city’s South Side.
Three new areas of the East End were chosen at Dalmarnock and Duke Street railway stations and Alexandra Park.
The public was asked where they wanted extra pink rental cycle stations to be sited.
The event also marked the milestone of 200 years of cycling.
