A MAN was battered by a would-be thief during a walk in a city graveyard.

The 44-year-old man was walking through the Necropolis at 3.30am on Sunday June 11 when he was approached by a man.

The yob demanded his property and attacked him before leaving empty-handed.

The victim was left with face and head injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police have now issued CCTV footage of a man they want to trace in connection with the incident, whose name may be Colin.
