Road traffic accident , road closed sign..
AN appeal has been made for witnesses following a three-car smash last night.
The A77 at Bogend Toll near Kilmarnock, was closed after the incident around 8.20pm last night.
Police said a person had been hit by a car, with emergency services racing to the scene near the Bellfield Interchange.
The incident, according to Traffic Scotland, happened on the northbound carriageway.
Traffic Scotland tweeted last night: “A77 N/B at Bogend Toll closed due to a serious RTC at Bellfield Interchange.”
Officers are understood to still be at the scene, and they have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to get in touch.
