POLICE are hunting crooks behind a spate of thefts from vans throughout Clydebank.
Between £500 and £100 of tools were stolen from a van parked on Strathdee Avenue in Hardgate during the night of September 11, reports the Clydebank Post.
While a van was also stolen on the same night in Gilmour Street.

Overnight between September 13 and 14, a window was smashed £400 worth of tools were stolen from a van parked in Hillview Court’s residents’ carpark.
Wheel nuts, a vehicle handbook, sunglasses, bluetooth kits and other personal belongings were also nicked from a Renault Clio on Beech Drive between September 12 and 13.
A specialised taskforce, which was set up last year, are tackling the crimes and urging residents to be vigilant.

Inspector David Quinn said: “Police at Clydebank continue to investigate thefts from vehicles and the dedicated enquiry team are exploring all possible lines of inquiry.
“I would urge the public to report any suspicious activity to us as soon as possible.
“I would like to reiterate the advice already provided to ensure vehicles are locked, parked in well lit areas and have all valuables removed when left unattended.
“If anyone requires crime prevention advice they should visit the Police Scotland website or get in touch with the community policing team at Clydebank.”
