A GLASGOW make-up artist has achieved her dream job after being hand-picked to prep models at London Fashion Week.

Lauren Adessi's landed one of the most coveted jobs in the industry and a high-profile slot in fashion bible Vogue, two years after finishing her training.

The 34-year-old, who trained with renowned Glasgow make-up artist Sara Hill, has just returned after two days rubbing shoulders with front row celebrities.

Lauren, who lives in Springburn, styled models for couture Bulgarian designer Svetoslav Kolchagov, whose gowns are a favourite with celebrities including Sophie Elis-Bexter, Katherine Jenkins and Kimberley Walsh.

She said: "It's always been my dream to work at London Fashion Week.

"When I was at the Girl's Day Out in Glasgow, I was chatting to someone from the make-up brand Pierre Rene.

"They liked my work and invited me down.

"I was down for a couple of days and it was pretty full on.

"There was quite a few famous people there but it went by in a blur.

"For the show, the look they wanted was glowy, dewy skin. The model I worked on ended up as the main image on Vogue UK, which was amazing.

"I left Sara Hill two years ago and have been working really hard ever since. I've been very blessed with the lovely people I have met along the way, it's definitely made all the long hours worth it."

Her work has already been seen in Italian Vogue.

Despite achieving her number one ambition, Lauren isn't resting on her laurels and has set her sights on landing her dream client, the signer Adele.

She said: "I just keep setting myself new goals. Adele's just got a dream face to work on."

Women in Glasgow will now be able to try out the looks Lauren created for the catwalk.

Lauren, who is mum to Maija, 7, has landed a new job working as a make-up artist in city centre beauty salon, Revival Retreat.

The make-up artist will also be passing on the tricks of the trade teaching classes in the salon's beauty academy.
