A WOMAN was caught out for benefit fraud after illegally claiming more than £3000.
Andrea Hendry failed to tell authorities about a change in her circumstances.
She claimed £3047.30 in housing benefit without telling South Lanarkshire council she had an increase in earnings.
The 35-year-old, who has since secured a job in a bakery in Cambuslang, has paid back £2400 of the stolen money already.
The theft was her first criminal offence.
She appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court to be sentenced before Sheriff Bonnar this week.
Hendry, of Mansion Court in Cambuslang was ordered to do 100 hours of unpaid work in six months.
