THE family friend of a young man who was stabbed to death at a house party in Easterhouse has began fundraising for his funeral.

Stephanie Granger started a JustGiving page for Paul Bexley who was attacked during a fight at a house party in the area's Baldovan Crescent in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 23-year-old was rushed to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary with stab wounds where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

On the page, Stephanie, who is a friend of Paul's mum Lorraine, said: "I have started this page for my friend Lorraine to help cover some funeral costs.

"Lorraine's son Paul sadly had his life took from him in a knife incident on Sunday morning.

"I'm hoping friends will come together and help this grieving mother out."

It is hoped that £500 will be raised through the fundraising drive.

The Evening Times previously reported that floral tributes were placed outside the block of flats where the murder took place and among those messages was a tribute from his mum.

She said: “Can’t believe your gone and I never got to say goodbye.

“You will be in my heart and thoughts everyday.

“Fly high until we meet again. Mum.”

The heartbreaking message lay with several other floral tributes as police continued to investigate the murder.
