ONE of David Walliam's children's books has been filming in Largs over teh past few days and is expected to be broadcast at Christmas.
The 46-year-old actor and comedian has sold more than 12.5 million copies, and his books have been translated into 46 languages.
A source told the Largs and Millport Weekly News: "The filming crew are apparently here for a week, including the whole brigade - the first marina car park is full of film equipment and all the caravans."
The local area has been used for a number of tv dramas over rencet years. Hunterston House has been a regular venue for television filming including Jonathan Creek, Rebus, and a series on James Herriot, the author of All Creatures Great and Small, attracting a high calibre of actors including film star and TV's 'Sherlock' Benedict Cumberbatch.
Granpa's Great Escape is being adapted for BBC One and due to air this Christmas. The film will be written by Walliams and Kevin Cecil and star Tom Courtenay as Grandpa, Kit Connor as Jack, Jennifer Saunders as Miss Dandy with Samantha Spiro and Walliams as Jack's parents, Patricia and Barry.
