A POPULAR west end venue is to receive a £100,000 makeover this month.
Bar Gumbo on Byres Road will relaunch following refurbishments which will take place over a four week period in October.
And to coincide with the closure the team will be hosting a farewell party today from 6pm to 11pm.
Mehrab Fakouri, who runs the venue said: "Gumbo is shutting today for four weeks and getting a major facelift.
"Pretty much the whole place is getting gutted and we are starting again.
"Going forward it's going to be more restaurant led, with a big focus on freshly made, classic American and New Orleans French cooking rather than burgers and sandwiches."
Foodies are invited to come and have a toast with the team and say goodbye to Gumbo as they know it.
