THE EVENING Times has given a cash boost to a vital campaign to improve the lives of Glasgow pensioners.
The Glasgow Old People’s Welfare Association has this week launched their fundraising appeal for a new minibus.
Around £26,000 is needed to buy the vehicle, with the Evening Times’ Staff Benevolent Fund donating £500 towards the cause.
Editor Graham Shields said: “We are delighted to support such a worthwhile cause, which we hope will go a long way towards helping Glasgow’s older residents.
“Well done to GOPWA for all the work they do. I would encourage others to follow in our footsteps and donate what they can to help this essential campaign.”
To donate to the fund:
- VISIT www.justgiving.com/fundraising/karen-moyes1
- TEXT ‘GOPW17 £10’ to 70070 (will give a £10 donation)
- POST a cheque to the Glasgow Old People’s Welfare Association, 7 Sandyford Place, Glasgow, G3 7NB.
