POLICE are calling for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in Clydebank.

The incident involving 27-year-old happened on Sunday, October 8 at at 3.30am.

A disturbance between the victim and suspect happened near a set of garages in Faifley Road, near Watchmeal Crescent.

A woman, who was with the victim, was present at the time however did not get involved in the disturbance.

The injured man was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, and police have carried out door-to-door enquiries in the area.

CCTV footage has also been examined.  Detective Constable Jonathan Campbell said: “We believe the altercation between the two men began outside garages in Faifley Road, however it continued a further 100 yards up Faifley Road.

“We are working to establish the motive for the attack and I’m appealing to local residents in that area to contact us. I appreciate many will have been asleep at the time but I’m asking them to get in touch if they heard anything or if they have any information or knowledge about the incident.”

The suspect is white, around 5ft9 to 5ft10 and stocky.

He is clean shaven and has blonde hair, shaved at the sides and longer on top.

The man was wearing a navy blue top at the time of the incident.
