WORK has started on transforming the site of a former primary school into much needed homes in the west end.

Partick Housing Association begun its latest project to build affordable homes in the heart of Partick, and is developing the site of the former St Peter’s Primary School.

The project will deliver 60 new flats, including 31 flats for social rent, 21 flats for mid market rent, and eight flats of supported accommodation.

Work on the new flats at Chancellor Street will begin on October 17 and are expected to be completed in summer 2019.

Partick Housing Association acquired the site from Glasgow City Council, who contributed over £5 million towards the £10.5m project.

Collective Architecture are behind the design of the development, which will include a mix of new build and retention of part of the old school building.

Central Building Contractors (CBC) have been appointed as the main contractor.
