The aunt and uncle of lotto winner Michael Carroll both died from shotgun wounds to the head and had to be identified by DNA, an inquest heard.

Stephen John Muncaster, 47, and his wife, Alison Muncaster, 48, were discovered on July 12 in what is thought to be an act of murder-suicide.

The pair were identified through DNA evidence and assistant coroner Johanna Thompson for Norfolk Coroner's Court said their joint inquest would be held on January 5 next year.

It is understood Mr Muncaster shot his wife at their home in Stow Road, in the quiet Norfolk village of Magdalen near Kings Lynn before shooting himself in the head in their front garden.

She added that a post-mortem examination confirmed they died from wounds inflicted by a shotgun.
