A MAJOR fire ripped through a derelict restaurant in Newton Mearns.
Around 20 firefighters rushed to the blaze at the former Chinese in Mearns Road in the early hours of Tuesday.
No one was injured during the fire.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 2.20am on Tuesday, October 10, to reports of a fire within a single storey derelict building on Mearns Road, Newton Mearns.
“Operations Control immediately mobilised three appliances and firefighters extinguished the flames using high powered hoses.
“There were no casualties and crews left the scene after ensuring that the area was made safe.”
