Over the past year Clan players, fans and staff have taken the boys and girls at the hospital to their hearts, raising money through a host of fundraising events.

Fans donated 500 teddies at ‘Air the Bear’, raised thousands of pounds through a special ‘Clangus’ jersey auction, and held a special hockey match on the hospital’s roof garden, the chance to drop the puck at the start of a match, and free tickets to games.

Clan Hockey & Operations Director Gareth Chalmers said: “The charity do outstanding work to support the young patients and their families during their time at the hospital, so we felt it was a worthy cause for the club’s and the Purple Army’s support.”

Kirsten Sinclair, Director of Fundraising at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, added: “We aim to ensure that the 168,000 babies, children and young people treated each year at Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children receive the best possible care and experience.

“The generosity of the Braehead Clan’s players and fans has been absolutely phenomenal, so we are thrilled to be able to count on their continued support for another season.

"From putting smiles on the faces of children and young people at the hospital to organising exciting fundraising events, we’d like to thank the Clan who have pulled out all the stops to make a difference to the lives of our young patients and their families at Scotland’s largest children’s hospital.”
