A MAN has died after he was knocked down by a bus.
The 48-year-old was struck on Wednesday at around 3.45pm in the Stevenson area of Ayrshire.
The incident happened on Kilwinning Road.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and the victim was taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Nobody else was injured during the incident.
Sergeant Kevin Blackley, from the Trunk Road Policing Unit based at Irvine, said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and I would ask any witnesses who were in the area around the time of the crash and are yet to speak to officers to please come forward.
“Anyone with information can contact the Trunk Road Policing Unit based at Irvine via 101 and quote incident number 2210/11.”
