THE next wave of parking restrictions in Glasgow's West End is now under way.

Hyndland, Hughenden and Dowanhill West will be affected as a public consultation exercise is set to take place.

This follows similar proposals in Byres Road, Dowanhill and the central Partick zone.

Last week a Glasgow City Council notice was sent out to businesses and organisations in the area.

It read: "Glasgow City Council are writing to inform you of the commencement of a voluntary consultation for the proposed Hyndland, Hughenden and Dowanhill West area parking controlled zone prior to the commencement of the statutory traffic regulation order (TRO) process.

"Glasgow City Council is currently undertaking the development and introduction of significant parking control schemes throughout the Glasgow area."

Restrictions for the central Partick area are set to come into effect from Monday, October 16.

The next consulation on the Hyndland, Hughenden and Dowanhill West area will take place from Monday, October 30 to Monday, November 6 at Partick Library.

There will be council officers at the library to answer questions from the public on Tuesday, October 31, Thursday, November 2 and Friday, November 3.
