The Blythswood Square Hotel spa has become the first hotel in Glasgow able to offer cancer patients specialist treatments.
Spa Therapists at the five-star spa have graduated from a specialist cancer touch spa course from the Made for Life Foundation.
A range of face and body treatments can now be altered to suit each patient and their needs, with a full consultation beforehand to ensure they are comfortable.
The hotel's ten therapists completed the advanced course to gain a deeper understanding of what cancer is, the staging and grading and how the treatments for cancer can affect the need to adapt spa treatments.
The Spa at Blythswood Square is a 10,000 sq. ft. facility with nine luxury treatment rooms, a thermal suite, two relaxation pools and a relaxing lounge and café – a decadent, five-star haven in the centre of the city.
Leon Trayling, Spa Director at Blythswood Square Hotel, said: “It is really special to be the only Spa to offer something like this in the city and was in response to many of our guests looking for something so specialist. It means some of our visitors who could benefit from some pampering the most can enjoy the spa to its full potential.”
