Another month, another pizza joint added to Glasgow’s growing and cool food scene. And this is definitely one we can get on board with.

BASTA in the West End is well and truly making Partick residents happy, particularly as it describes itself as a “disco pizza bar.”

The Dumbarton Road eatery is sure to stand out from the crowd, particularly because of its ingredients which are imported from Italy, including Polselli flour, Strianese tomatoes, and extra virgin olive oil.

Fresh produce is also sourced as close to home as possible, including from the Sandy Road Community Garden and a local allotment.

The venue, although small, does not lack character with a lot of emphasis being placed on good tunes.

And if that isn’t enough to tickle your fancy and have you running for the place, staff are now offering a “special pizza” consisting of ham cooked in Irn-Bru for eight hours, blow-torched fresh pineapple, tomato, and mozzarella.
