A teenager has died after being struck by a car while using a pedestrian crossing in East Kilbride.
The 15-year-old girl was crossing the A749 Kingsway on Wednesday when she was struck by a black VW Scirocco, travelling southbound.
Emergency services attended the scene but the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 18-year-old driver was uninjured in the crash which left the road closed for several hours.

Officers from Motherwell Road Policing are now looking into the circumstances of the incident and are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
Motorists who were travelling on the carriageway are also asked to contact them, particularly if they have any dash cam footage which good provide significant information about the incident.
Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at the Divisional Road Policing Unit in Motherwell via 101, quoting incident number 2636 of 18 October 2017.
